Edmonton's Favourite Mexican Food at Bountiful Farmers' Market
PiKanté is a small, family-run Mexican restaurant located inside the food hall at Bountiful Farmers' Market in south Edmonton.
Operating every weekend, it has built a reputation for serving some of the city's most flavourful birria and street-style tacos,
prepared from scratch in a compact open kitchen. Guests can order from the counter and eat at the nearby communal tables in the
market or take their food home.
The name "PiKanté" reflects the personal story of its owners. In Spanish, "picante" means spicy, but the couple chose to spell
it with a P and K to embed the first letters of their names — Pam and Ken
(from Oaxaca, Mexico) — directly into the brand. They set out to share the foods they grew up with, using time-intensive
recipes and careful seasoning rather than shortcuts.
All products are made in-house without preservatives, with many naturally gluten-free choices and clearly marked vegan options.
PiKanté has earned word-of-mouth acclaim, including recognition for its birria tacos in local "best of Edmonton" roundups.
